( The Trouble with Dogs )

So winter suddenly decided to dump snow on Denmark - during the last 24 hours we got around 20 centimeter (and yes I'm too lazy to figure out what that is in inches). This means that the country has come to an almost still - several places the police advice that people do not drive and that people should stay home.

This picture was taken this morning around 7 am out of my kitchen window and I think we got at least 2-5 centimeter snow since then. Of course I find it hilarious that we have a blizzard at the same time the UN climate summit is taking place in Copenhagen - that is kinda ironical.

Well today was my last day at work - I'm now on forced vacation (that is how the rules are here in Denmark) and of January 1st I'm unemployed.

I have known for some time that I would loose my job, we just hoped till the very last that something would happen and the company could continue. I have been (weird to use past tense) working in a small up-starter computer company and small up-starter companies needs people who are willing to invest money in the business - but alas the economical crisis has made it impossible to find neither people nor money. So the company goes into hiatus but naturally they had to sack us.

But finding a new job is not gonna be easy, not at all. So I'm just glad I have unemployment insurance.

I have decided that I will not let this ruin my Christmas although I have to admit that finding that lovely Christmas spirit has been difficult this year. But I'm gonna enjoy my vacation days here before Christmas and between Christmas and New Year. And when 2010 comes around I'll worry about finding a new job.
